US Open Court Colors Paint a Legacy for Tennis Around the World
A Colorful end to the Grand Slam Season
The 2022 US Open served up a historic and colorful end to the Grand Slam season. With Iga Swiatek (Poland) beating Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur in a dramatic Women’s Final, it was both players’ debut in a US Open Championship and also marked the first time that a Polish or North African woman has reached the final in New York. Players from Spain, Russia, Norway and the U.S. all progressed to the Men’s Semi-Finals with Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) eventually clinching his first US Open Championship title from Casper Ruud (Norway) and becoming the youngest ever male World Number 1.
